The Williamson Community Fund is able to receive contributions for funding civic improvements in Williamson beginning August 1, 2008. Within this community fund there are two funds established for individuals and organizations that want to give something back to their community:
Fund A
This Fund serves as a conduit account for gifts that are intended to meet a specific immediate charitable purpose of the donor.
Do you have a specific project that you would like to financially support in Williamson? For example, many people admire the Garden Club’s hanging flower baskets and pocket gardens throughout the city. If you do and would like to financially support this project, you could send a contribution to the Williamson Community Fund for Fund A for the flower baskets or gardens. You would then know that following your instructions, your contribution would be used for that purpose and you could deduct that charitable contribution from your income taxes to the extent permitted by law.
Fund B
This Fund is for irrevocable gifts that are designated to meet the permanent charitable purposes of the donor.
Do you have a more general idea of what Williamson needs or you don’t know exactly what it needs but would like to support the city? Would you like to honor a former or current Williamson resident or memorialize a loved one? If so, you could send a contribution to the Williamson Community Fund for Fund B. You would know that your gift was being used to create an endowment to meet the permanent charitable, educational, cultural or scientific purposes of the City of Williamson and you could deduct that charitable contribution from your income taxes to the extent permitted by law.
Is it time to update your will or living trust?
Would you like to make a contribution to the improvement of the City of Williamson that would take effect after your death?
If so, please share this information with your lawyer or contact the Williamson Redevelopment Authority or the Foundation for the Tri-state Community, Inc.
Bequests can be made to either Fund A or Fund B of the Williamson Community Fund.
